These are some of my favourite riddles. Dead good ones lol see if you can get any: RIDDLE 1:What has roots that nobody sees, Is taller than trees, Up, up it goes, And yet never grows? RIDDLE 2:Thirty white horses on a red hill, First they champ, Then they stamp, Then they stand still. ...What are the horses? RIDDLE 3:Again, name the subject: Voiceless it cries, Wingless flutters, Toothless bites, Mouthless mutters. RIDDLE 4:An eye in a blue face Saw an eye in a green face. "That eye is like to this eye," Said the first eye, "But in low place, Not in high place." ... what's this one about? RIDDLE 5:Yet again, name the subject: It cannot be seen, cannot be felt, Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt. It lies behind stars and under hills, And empty holes it fills. It comes first and follows after, Ends life, kills laughter. RIDDLE 6:Another name the subject one: A box without hinges, key, or lid, Yet golden treasure inside is hid. RIDDLE 7:This thing all things devours Birds, beasts, trees, flowers Gnaws iron, bites steel, Grinds hard stones to meal, Slays king, ruins town, And beats high mountain down! ... what is "the thing"? :S *doo dooo dooooo dooooooo...* Also, might I suggest a "quoting" system for answering riddles? Just thought it could get a wee bit confusing with multiple riddles going at once... If this really takes off I could make a subboard just for riddles, so they can be done as separate threads. Let me know if you want me to...

a riddle is meant to have some sort of clever answer to it, n i just get really annoyed if i tryin to think of an answer when the riddle rhymes. its as if it takes emphasis off the riddle and its answer and puts more on to the rhyme. oh and yeh i dont particularly like poetry, not since GCSE

For your information sir, these riddles do have "some sort of clever answer" to them. No it doesn't take emphasis off the riddle lol - or its answer - and not liking poetry doesn't make these crap - that's just your problem...

im not saying that hey are 'crap' or that they are not clever, justin my opinion it does take emphasis from the riddle. and my opinoin of poerty is to be honest crap, i did used to like it yet since english literature in GCSE it has ruined my opinion of all poetry, therefore i dont want to have ro read it while reading riddles. i know by saying this everyone will now add more rhyme riddles, but beware, u will suffer my wrath

nah, this thread is for riddles, so itll be fine, people will have to just say which they are answering so that it doesnt get chaotic
